Welcome

I create “intimate apparel” that hints at the personal stories of the wearers. Bras, slips, camisoles, nightgowns, undershirts, and boxers are the closest layer to our bodies, and add a protective layer against the outside world. We cover this layer with the clothes we choose to show the public. My clothing imbues this protective “intimate” layer with memories, fears, emotions or wishes.

My clothing is not functional; it’s hand sewn newsprint and very fragile. I drew live nude models in pencil, and charcoal, and then allowed the poses to dictate the form of the clothes. The artwork sets the narrative. Nothing is revealed in this layer, only hinted.

We are all naked under our clothes, but these pieces reverse that truth.
